WhatsMyName is a browser-based public-source research tool published at WhatsMyName.io. It checks username or handle patterns against supported source definitions and returns links or statuses that may help researchers decide what to review manually.

Prohibited use

Harassment, stalking, threats, doxxing, or intimidation.

Attempting to access private accounts, private messages, or restricted systems.

Overloading, scraping, attacking, or disrupting the service or third-party platforms.

Presenting username matches as verified identity without independent confirmation.

Using results to violate laws, privacy rights, or platform terms.

Entering passwords, secrets, or information you are not authorized to use.

Accuracy and availability

The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Public platforms can change URLs, rate limits, response formats, or access rules at any time. Results may include false positives, false negatives, stale snapshots, or temporary errors.
